The Grade 1 students of St. Lawrence High School and junior college learnt how to make bread as a part of their Inquiry session and it was a fun learning experience for them.

They began by assembling all the necessary ingredients and learnt how to measure properly using a measuring scale. Then they went through the entire process of making the bread looking at each step like – kneading, rounding, punching, molding, baking etc. They saw flash cards and videos of the same for a better understanding.

To practice what they learnt, we gave them some clay which they rounded and punched and kneaded and cut. This helped to develop their fine motor skills and they also got to pretend play that they are baking their own loaves of bread.
