St. Lawrence High School and Junior College Celebrates Janmashtami with Creativity and Joy

This year, St. Lawrence High School and Junior College celebrated Janmashtami in a creative and engaging way, immersing students in the spirit of the festival. The highlight of the celebration was a special activity where the children crafted crowns, or “mukuts,” inspired by those worn by Lord Krishna.

The event began with a brief introduction to Janmashtami, where students learned about the significance of the festival and the story of Lord Krishna. Armed with colorful craft materials such as paper, glitter, and sequins, the children eagerly set to work. Guided by their teachers, they carefully cut out crown templates, adorned them with sparkles, and proudly wore their handmade creations.

This activity was both enjoyable and educational. It offered students a hands-on way to explore the cultural and religious importance of Janmashtami while fostering their creativity and fine motor skills. The event also emphasized core values such as devotion, creativity, and teamwork, imparting important lessons about community and cultural heritage.

The Janmashtami celebration at St. Lawrence High School and Junior College was a joyful and enriching experience, leaving the students not only with beautiful crowns but also with a deeper understanding of the festival’s significance.
