The Lawrentians say no to Pollution!

We at St. Lawrence High School and Junior College believe that the next generation can best be fostered by making them take responsible action in their day to day activities. The celebration of festivals is a crucial time to teach the children how to be conscious towards their surroundings.

For our Ganpati celebration in school we spoke to the students about the harmful effects of plaster of Paris, as it is non-biodegradable and pollutes the soil and the water bodies.

They were taught how to make the Lord Ganesha idol using eco-friendly material like shadu mati and natural clay. Even the paints used by them were natural and bio-degradable.

This campaign helped the students to realise that in the name of religion and culture they cannot harm Mother Nature and endanger other living beings.
