“THE OBJECT OF EDUCATION IS TO PREPARE THE YOUNG TO EDUCATE THEMSELVES THROUGHOUT THEIR LIVES.” – ROBERT MAYNARD HUTCHINS

The little scientists of St. Lawrence High School & Junior College performed experiments to find out the scientific reason for everything and observe it first hand.

The Grade 2 students performed an experiment named – “float my clay boat.”

Each child was given some clay dough and a bowl filled with water till the brim to perform the experiment under the teacher’s supervision.

The students were asked to give the clay a different shape and drop it in the water. They were also asked to observe whether it sinks or floats in the water.

The students were very eager & enthusiastic to see the clay in different shapes floating on the water.

This experiment helped the students to understand the concept of density of water & how different object shapes affects its buoyancy.
