Broadening the classroom environment at St Lawrence High School and Junior College!

“Teaching children about the natural world should be seen as one of the most important events in their lives!” – Thomas Berry.

Every year, we at St.Lawrence High School and Junior College, try our best to provide our students with different learning experiences in the real world. This time we took our Grade 3 students for a field trip to explore the world at the Artillery Centre and to see horse stables.

The Grade 3 students are reading the novel named Charlotte’s Web by E.B White. In this story book there are many animal characters who live in a barn.

The main motto for this field trip was to provide our students with tangible experiences that make learning more engaging, memorable, and relevant. Furthermore, they promote critical thinking, enhance observational skills and nurture a sense of curiosity and wonder. This experience offered the students priceless learning opportunities that went beyond the conventional classroom environment.
