At St. Lawrence High School and Junior College we believe that all children learn faster through their own experience and experiments. Our young scientists made use of day to day items like eggs, salt and water and performed an experiment under their teacher’s supervision.

They observed how an egg floats in salted water and how it sinks in ordinary water. They learnt the concept of density through this and correlated it to how ships float easily in sea water.

They saw with their own eyes that adding salt to water makes it denser and the weight of water increases as compared to regular tap water.

Such experiments help children to understand concepts in a simpler and faster way because they are exciting, fun, require newer materials and are much more involving in nature.
