“Life is just like potter’s clay, it gets shaped by our own hands.”

At St Lawrence High School and Junior College, the Grade 1 students were introduced to the new theme – Potter’s wheel – where they learnt about pottery. They were introduced to the different steps of making a pot using natural clay.

It was a great way to strengthen their fine motor skills and also to teach them how to be patient while creating something. The delicacy needed while shaping an earthen pot was not easy to master but each child loved trying their hand at it.

After this they even coloured their own pots using different techniques like – dipping, colouring and sponging. They felt a sense of achievement on creating something so unique of their own and decorating it beautifully.
