The Grade 1 students of St.Lawrence High School and Junior College learnt about the Gir forest which is situated in Gujarat. It is one of India’s most valuable wildlife sanctuaries.

600 Asiatic lions, 300 leopards, 250 different birds and all other animals are treasured in our Gir Forest. The students were shown these species through a virtual tour of the forest. The students always like to learn more about our country and feel proud about the rich variety of animals and birds that exist here.

They then drew the pictures that they saw online, in their art books. They were able to appreciate the beauty of India through this activity and determined to treasure and cherish such species of animals and birds by preserving Mother Nature and respecting the environment.
