Author fun at St. Lawrence High School and Junior College!

“Books and doors are the same thing. You open them, and you go through into another world.”

– Jeanette Winterson

The Grade 1 students of St Lawrence High school and Junior College are introduced to different authors and their books every month. This month they learnt about Ezra Jack Keats. He was an American writer and illustrator of children’s books and was born in New York. Students read many books written by him like – The Snowy Day, A Letter to Amy, Apt. 3,The Trip. His books are fun to look at and read over and over again.

Ezra Jack Keats is widely known for picture books and many of his stories portray family life and the simple pleasures in a child’s daily routine. Students enjoyed looking at the artwork of the books. From his books, they learnt how to think about and deal with problems and feelings they experience as they grow up.The artwork in Keats’ books exposes kids to illustrations of the highest quality and sparks their imagination.

Thus they had a wonderful time learning about yet another interesting author.
