Girls Guides of St. Lawrence tie rakhi to the brave soldiers
“…And if words cannot repay the debt we owe these men, surely with our actions we must strive to keep faith with them and with the vision that led them to battle and to final sacrifice.” Ronald Reagan
The debts of the sacrifice of our soldiers can never be reimbursed, we can only offer small gestures of love and affection to them. To make our valiant soldiers feel the warmth of being in family and to express their heartfelt gratitude, the girls of Class 8 & 9 of St. Lawrence High School & Jr. College made extremely creative Rakhis using silk thread, beads, colourful papers to the saviours of our country. The girls also made ladoos for the soldiers to mark the occasion.
The girls were taken to the Deolali Cantonment to tie rakhis to the protectors. They were awed, seeing the discipline and humbleness of the soldiers. Some even had watery eyes while tying rakhis.
This event became one of the most memorable ones for the students.
